Thousands attend the funeral prayer of the worker martyred by Sindh Rangers in Karachi on Sunday

Thousands of people across the country offered the funeral prayer of the martyred worker, Muhammad Amjad Rizvi in Railway Ground Mailsi. Remember that Muhammad Majid Rizvi Shaheed was martyred by the firing of Sindh Rangers Personnel in Karachi on Sunday when TLP was holding a protest against a deceased blasphemer. Hafiz Anas Rizvi led the funeral prayer.

Muhammad Amjad Rizvi Shaheed was martyred while hundreds were injured after Sindh Rangers opened fire on Tehreek Labbaik Pakistan (TLP)'s announced march in Karachi on Sunday. The march was announced against the Sindh government's support for the blasphemous who was killed in a police encounter last month. The Sindh government is not only backing the actions of the blasphemer and his family, rather an FIR has also been registered against the Police patrol involved in the encounter. TLP announced a march in Karachi today against this demeanour. A counter-protest had also been announced. The counter-protest (in favour of the deceased blasphemer) was provided foolproof security while law enforcement agencies (LEAs) including Sindh Rangers opened fire on the participants of the TLP march which resulted in one fatality where Muhammad Majid Rizvi was martyred due to firing and hundreds have been injured. In a message, Mufti Qasim Fakhri mentioned that LEAs have arrested around a hundred injured participants from the hospitals.

According to TLP's chief patron Sindi, Sufi Yahya Qadri, the Karachi Police talked with them (TLP leaders) and assured them that LEAs were not going to let anyone hold the protest including the counter-protest hailing the blasphemer.  "So, we told them that we will stay where we are and if you don't let the counter-protest happen, we will disperse from here without walking towards the Karachi Press Club," told Sufi Yahya Qadri in a video message. He said that they waited until 6 PM but then against our commitment, LEAs let the counter-protesters reach Karachi Press Club (KPC). "That was the time when we decided to start the march towards the KPC and then the whole world watched what happened," Sufi Yahya Qadri was criticising the LEAs for opening fire on TLP's rally at the behest of the Sindh government.

According to Sindh and Karachi Police, they did not allow anyone to assemble in Karachi amid the imposition of Section 144 in the city. More than 100 people from both protests, TLP's march and the counter-protest, have been arrested. However, Sindh Police has admitted that all the protesters arrested from the counter-protest have been released (however, all the TLP's march participants are still in the lockups and allegedly being tortured).
