All major markets observe shutter-down strike across the country on TLP call

All major markets across the country observe a shutter-down strike on the call of Tehreek Labbaik Pakistan against inflation and recent hike in petroleum prices. Earlier, reports erupted about local administartion and police who were forcing traders union bodies to remain their shops opened in various cities including Karachi. Police attempted the same in various markets observing the strike on Monday morning as well, but the traders refused to open their shops. All main markets including Shah Alam market, Azam Cloth market and AnarKali in Lahore are totally closed. No business markets are open in Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Gojra, Sheikhupura, Wazirabad and many other cities in Punjab and rest of the provinces. Trader unions in Karachi have already announced their support for TLP's shutter-down call.

When asked about what if government doesn't reduce petroleum prices, Hafiz Saad Hussain Rizvi reiterated that if that happens they (TLP) have many other options to carry forward their protest but government has no option left except to reduce prices.
